March meeting. Membership dues are also due at this time. Tom Galloway, K3TG, will step down after 5 years of service to the Club as President. Tom said that the Club recently received the ARRL 25 Year Affiliation Award. He hopes that the Club makes it to the 50th year. ARRL: The ARRL dues increase will take place July 1, 2001. The League is offering a 5 year membership renewal at this time. Members are asked to renew to the League through the Club. The MCARC will receive $5 for new League members and $2 for renewals. NEW BUSINESS: Insurance: Jerry Parkany, N8PY, reported that the Club has insurance via the ARRL through Seabury and Smith which is underwritten by Alliance. The new underwriter will now be New Hampshire. If we accept them, all will remain the same. The other option would be to look elsewhere for insurance. N8PY mentioned he believes the League's insurance is trustworthy. New Hampshire will also cover antennas, towers, rotators, coax, etc. Barney Scholl, K3LA, has not yet looked at the new underwriters. The insurance costs $1.50 per $100 of equipment value. The Club states the value of the equipment. Based on the change of the equipment insurance to a new underwriter, Bob Trodden, N3ZZR, moved to "accept the new underwriter". Jerry Parkany, N8PY, ammended the motion: "based on the condition that the repeater trustee approves this." Doug Noderer, W3FYV, seconded the motion. The motion passed. N8PY will request an updated list of equipment that we have covered under our present policy. The new underwriters took effect as of August 2000. Presently the Club's total insurance value is $20,877 which costs $313/year. The renewal notice will come due next fall. It was also discussed whether the Club had a liability policy. Donation: Jim Hughes, W3HGM, donated a multimode PSK-232 TNC to the Club to offer to the members for sale. The TNC will not be used for the BBS since we are trying to standardize the TNC's.
