homes and cumulate the points for the Club. The PA QSO Party will take place on the weekend of October 14th.

Autopatch/Repeater:  Dave Magargee, N3CM, says that with cell phones, the need for the autopatch is not as critical. He asked why the Club should continue the autopatch and pay approximately $20 per month whereas the money could be used for other purposes.  Jerry Viele, W8JV, suggested the idea of doing away with the phone bill should be published in the newsletter to see how the full membership would react before any action is taken.  Opal Drexler, WB8ITS, asked how to obtain the autopatch codes.  It was mentioned that Barney Scholl, K3LA, is the person to contact for codes since he is the repeater trustee.  The codes are ONLY available to Club members.  Doug Noderer, W3FYV, reported that Chuck Paddock, K8CLP, said that Barney Scholl, K3LA, said the repeater code packet needs to be updated.  Tom Galloway, K3TG, raised the issue of the Club purchasing another repeater or controller.  Dave Magargee, N3CM, asked how the Club would address the buying of a new repeater (receiver, transmitter, controller).  He said that sooner or later the Club will need another repeater.  K3TG suggested that the Board of Directors meet and give the membership some direction on this issue.

Lou Malice:  Jerry Viele, W8JV, reported that he has forms for the Lou Malice 2m Memorial Contest which will take place on Oct. 14th.

Area Speaker:  Jerry Viele, W8JV, said that Riley Hollingsworth has asked for a date during the week in Feb. or March that he can come and speak.  W8JV gave him 3 dates in March.  There will be access to lecture halls at YSU for this event.
