MERCER COUNTY AMATEUR RADIO CLUB MINUTES FROM THE LAST BUSSINESS MEETING JANUALY, 2000
The regular January meeting of the Mercer County Amateur Radio Club was called to order on January 25, 2000 at 7:38.m. by President Tom Galloway, K3TG. There were 17 members present. The minutes were read by acting secretary, Linda Yankovich, N3XZA, Tom Galloway, K3TG made a correction in the year for which the club became ARRL affiliated. A motion by Gordon Frissora, KZ3W and seconded by Bob Drexler, WA3ZOE to accept the November, 1999 minutes.
Treasurer's Report: A correction was made to the November and December, 1999 treasurer's report by Jerry Parkany, KB8YBE. Tom Junk, W3GUN moved to accept the treaurer's report. Dennis Gregory, WM3H seconded the motion, the motion carried.
Membership Committee: Nothing to report.
EMA: A letter was received from Jim Thompson thanking RACES and MCARC for services provided on New Year's Eve. Tom Galloway, K3TG read the letter to the membership. One piece of traffic was passed on New Year's Eve net by Dean DeMay, W8YSU from Mahoning Valley. Gordon reported that the EOC computer is obsolete Tom Galloway, K3TG thanked the club their participation for New Year's Eve.
VE Session: Dennis Gregory, WM3H reported that Tom Junk, W3GUN received an upgrade at the last VE session. The next VE session in Mercer will be Saturday, February 19 at the EMA building. Registration is at 9 a.m., testing starts at 10 a.m. Jerry Viele, W8JV reported that the MVARA will have a paperwork only exam on Saturday, April 15 for those who need to do the paperwork to receive their upgrades after the restructuring takes effect.
Net/Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner/Good Hams: It was reported that there were approximately 22 checkins into last week's Emergency Communications Net (Thursday at 9 p.m.). There 3 or 4 checkins for the 10 meter net on 28.450 MHz at 8:30 p.m. on Thursday night. Tom encouraged members to check in on the net.
The count was not known for last Saturday's 9:00 a.m. breakfast at Burger King on E. State St. in Hermitage and there were about 5 at the lunch 11:30 a.m. lunch on Wednesday at Burger King on Rt. 18 near Walmart. There was no report for the Friday evening dinner at the Subarban Restaurant There was about 6 people at the January meeting at the Good Life Center on Friday night. The next meeting is scheduled for Friday, February 4. The TS-830 is back up and running. The only expense incurred was for the shipping and the tubes.
BBS: Gordon Frissora, KZ3W and Jerry Parkany, KB8YBE have been working on BBS.

CHRISTMAS PARTY There were about 24 people t the Subarban Restaurant in Hermitage. It was an enjoyable evening
New Business
MERCER COUNTY 200TH BICENTENNIAL: Jerry, KB8YBE showed preliminary sketches of QSL card for the special event station. Ideas came from membership, a committee will be formed, looking for a volunteer to head committee.
FIELD DAY: The floor was open for suggestions for this year's field. Gordon suggested to field day at the court house this year and it was also suggested to combine Field Day and the bicentennial special event, but Tom suggested to keep events separated. Bob Trotten, N3ZZR made the motion to keep field day at Buhl Park, Howard Anderson, KE3FO seconded the motion, the motion carried. Buhl Day will be help on June 24 & 25 this year. Tom, K3TG entertained the motion to allocate extra funds for incidentidentals e.g. fuel for generator, Gordon, KZ3W accepted the motion, Tom, W3GUN seconded, motion carried.
