With Spring just around the corner, here's a look back at  Field Day 1996.  Left, we have our main contest station; on the right, members discuss contest strategy (or perhaps "whats for lunch?").

[cont. from page 1...]

The Shrine itself is a replica of a Shrine in Harissa, Lebanon.  It was built  31 years ago.  It is of the Catholic faith, specifically the Maronite rite, which is one of the oldest rites in the Catholic Church.  The Rev. Msgr. William D. Bonczewski is the Director.   The address is 2759 N. Lipkey Road, North Jackson, OH 44451.  The mailing address for K8OLL is P. O. Box 105, Sharpsville, PA 16150. All are welcome to come and visit the Shrine.  There are many activities that go on there.  It is hoped that the Shrine Amateur Radio Station will  be another feature for visiting hams to participate in.  Even though the station is moving slowly in its development, it is hoped to gain a strong presence in time to come.  It has already worked the Lou Malice Memorial 2m Contest this year.  If you would like to be of any assistance,  feel  free to contact us.  You can write to either of the above addresses or call the Shrine at (330) 538-3351.  We hope to work you soon on the air!   73  Mike  NR3C
