there were not enough operators and that on one of the four routes, there were no operators.  He said it was very hard to keep track of bikers.  Scanners were used in SAG wagons but were not very effective. More help is needed for next year.
NEW BUSINESS:  Congratulations:  Blaine Smith,  N3UGN, congratulated Steve Shemancik, AA3EW, on his 50th Wedding
Anniversary.  A round of applause was given.
Meeting Location:  Tom Galloway, K3TG, reported that for the May meeting, we had difficulty in getting a meeting place, but did meet in the hospital cafeteria.  This month we had more difficulty due to remodeling of the cafe.  Linda Yankovich, N3XZA, said the cafe will not be able to be used until Sept.  We are meeting tonight (June) in the Good Life Center adjacent to the hospital. Major DaLessandro, K3IGO, moved that we look into making the Good Life Center as our permanent meeting location. Steve Shemancik, AA3EW, seconded the motion.  The meeting place for August will be in the Carrier Wave.
QSL Board:  Members are asked to get their QSL cards up on the QSL Board.  Also, a volunteer is needed to be responsible for bringing the board to and from meetings.
Net:  Volunteers are needed either for a net manager or to sign-up to do the net, possibly for a month at a time.
Picnic:  The Club picnic will be in Buhl Park on the 4th Tuesday of July (7-28-98) in place of the Club meeting.
Vanity Program:  The FCC will lower the fee for a vanity call to $13 for a 10 yr. term on Sept. 14, 1998. 10,000 more hams are expected to apply.
Special Events Station:  A special events station has been licensed under the callsign of W8A for the Austintown Centennial.  The one-by-one call is validfor July 1 - 15.
CQ Magazine:  Roy Drake, KA3JFI, was listed in CQ Magazine for obtaining the highest RTTY score in all of the U.S.
from last year's contesting.  Now Roy can work toward this goal again under his new call of W3RTY.
Program:  Radios will be checked for receiver sensitivity, power output, frequency deviation, and touch tones.  No
radios will be opened or adjusted tonight.
Raffle:  Field Strength meter (donated by AB8BR), World Radio, Yaesu Hat, Yaesu World Map; $24 collected.
Hospitality:  Linda Yankovich, N3XZA, was thanked for the refreshments the Hospitality Committee provided.
