EOC MOVE:   On Saturday, Jan. 31, 1998 Members of the MCARC met at the Mercer Co. 911 bldg., Mercer, PA, to facilitate the move of existing radio equipment to the new EOC.  As summed up by Dan, K3DR, MCARC RACES Officer, "we were charged with moving the existing radion equipment to the new EOC."  Along with moving the equipment, there was an exercise in installing new PL259 connectors for jumpers to 7 new 1/2 in. hardlines that were run out to the antenna tower.  The tower received 2 new antennas, 1 for ICOM dual-band radio.  "The county really did a good job with proividing us with custom cabinets...so far we're off to a great start with support from the County"  explained Dan.  There will be more to follow reguarding this and other EMA issues this year; we are working on ideas involving portable packet radio.  A big THANKS goes to Jim Thompson, Mercer County EMA director as well as the 12 club members that came out to help.  Also, special thanks to Joe, WA3YAO whose photographic effors appear in this month's CW.
